3rd International Conference on Mosque Architecture (ICMO) (Sarajevo, September 6th-9th 2021)

It is with great pleasure and honor that I announce my participation at the Third International Conference on Mosque Architecture (ICMA), which theme is « Mosque : Building Crosses Cultures », due to be held in Sarajevo between the 6th and 9th of September 2021. The conference is organized jointly by the Abdullatif Alfozan Award for Mosque Architecture and the University of Sarajevo. In the scope of the conference, I replied to a call for paper launched in November 2020, and got accepted. The article will be afterwards published in the conference proceedings book. I chose the topic of the Bosnian minaret, under the title « A history of the Bosnian minaret ». I will address the main features and characteristics of the various types of minarets that can be found in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the evolution in their function(s), symbolics, architectural elements, materials, since the Ottoman period until nowadays.
